PlentyOfFish was successful in attracting large membership, and retaining this membership because of its unique features vs other well-funded dating sites of the time. Viral marketing and reputation based marketing is still key especially for a a new dating site to gain a share of the market. Yes, money can be made via Adsense but if that is the goal of the dating site, then it will not succeed in the long term. MHO.

Do you know if the same works for affair websites? I don't write about porn sites and similar, but I do promote casual and adult dating. Most of my traffic hits affair websites (AshMed and the gang). Do you think I can put google ads there?

Nice article. I only wonder if a dating site be considered as a porn site? I wrote a post about Filipino women and someone from a dating site contacted me for an exchange link. I can see the site is okay; but still I'm worried that Google will consider it as a porn site because of the sexy profiles of the ladies. I don't want to lose my PR.
