For a business to thrive, it should embrace technology. And one great technology that any businessperson should not take for granted is social media and social networking. I've always believed that this technology will change the way businesspeople do their business and I wasn't wrong. I never expected though that it would be this successful, this big, this extent. Now, businesses aren't just satisfied with joining social networks, they go all the way and create a social networking website of their own with the ultimate goal of providing their customers the online community that they so deserved.

Social networking for business can actually be fun. Underneath all the serious work of collecting and analyzing social data before translating them into something useful for the business, social networking is but pleasurable and entertaining as well. Let's take for example those funny people in some business networking sites that made use of their humorous talent to entertain people and keep people coming to the site to get a dose of their daily business laugh. It makes sense actually. Some businesspeople took note of this fact before they created a social networking website of their own. They took note of their current team – if they have funny people who can write funny blogs or witty and quirky staffs who allowed their personality to start a stir in the social networking community.

This is the beauty of social networking. It doesn't have to be serious all the time though business is not a laughing matter. Businesspeople should see to it that they plan something engaging, exciting, educating and fun before they create a social networking website for their business. Yes, this is business but social networking is for people and people always wanted to be engaged, always wanted fun, always wanted the excitement of interaction. This should be incorporated with any business' social networking plans. Business owners must take advantage of their most powerful weapon for social networking – their people – people who can socialize with other people (clients) online and keep the community going.
